The 90th Central College A Cappella Choir season continues to inspire and delight audiences! We just returned from our successful Fall Mini Tour singing for schools and churches in Central Iowa. Our fall tour provides a wonderful opportunity to spread beauty and joy through our excellent choral tradition. Here is one of our recent performances.
We hope you will check out our performances online or in person this year. We are now eagerly preparing for the 47th annual Christmas Candlelight Concerts, “Holiday Wishes.”
7:30 p.m. Dec. 9, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Des Moines, with pre-concert alumni reception.
8 p.m. Dec. 10 and 11, Douwstra Auditorium. Dinner available by reservation.
Each spring our season concludes with a performance tour that raises student artistic vision with a challenging repertoire and introduces our choir to new venues and audiences. Students discover the strength of collaboration as we work with other ensembles and artists everywhere we go. These tours help our musicians learn about themselves and their relationship to the world around them on a deeper level. Our next international tour will be to Argentina!
A donation toward the A Cappella Choir’s annual campaign not only reduces costs for our singers to tour but also funds choral music, Candlelight Concert decorations, robe cleaning, teambuilding activities and our new poffertjes stand at Tulip Time. Your support is critical as we strive to ensure all students feel connected, included and welcome.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 by Dec. 31, and we need your help! Gifts of all sizes are greatly appreciated and make a difference! Will you consider a gift of $50 or more to help our choir?
In addition to helping us financially, your support inspires our student musicians to excel on the stage and in the classroom. The arts have never been more important in our students’ education and in our society. We sing beauty, peace and joy into being. We are grateful for your support of our noble choral tradition.
Though theory describes a melody as "musically satisfying," we are more than satisfied, we are grateful!
You're always up for a challenge, much like the harmony. We can't thank you enough for stepping up!
Bravo! Brava! We're blown away by your support. Thank you for making this tour possible!
