The Central College cheerleading team has offered many outstanding opportunities to its athletes over the years. Memories of practices, the nerves that accompany an event and the bonds with teammates that enhance the college experience.
Those experiences are what make this program so special. And they are exactly what we want to continue building for the athletes who come next.
The Central College cheer team is entering an exciting new chapter. Our team is growing, our athletes are taking on new challenges and we are continuing to raise the standard for what our team can accomplish, both on the sidelines and on the competition floor.
But building a stronger program takes more than hard work. It takes resources.

Launching Central's Swim Team!

Central College is excited to launch its first men’s and women’s swimming programs for the 2027–28 academic year! Led by Head Coach <strong>Jennie Hedrick-Rozenberg ’06</strong>, our new team will call the state-of-the-art Pella Recreation Center home.
Adding swimming gives student-athletes across Iowa and beyond a unique opportunity to compete while pursuing a close-knit, small-town college experience.
Building a new program from the ground up takes dedicated effort and community support. Your contribution will help provide essentials like <strong>startup equipment, gear, travel resources and team-bonding opportunities</strong> to ensure our student-athletes succeed in the pool, in the classroom and as leaders on campus.

Football 2026

The Central College football program is developing uncommon men who are driven to achieve uncommon goals. Our program is committed to providing the best opportunity for success on the field, in the classroom and in our players’ personal lives. We are proud of the legacy of the program and determined to continue to build upon its success. We’re proud that we currently have not had a losing season since 1960. We have completed back-to-back successful recruiting cycles in terms of quality and numbers. Our team is composed of men who are focused on the process and possess an outstanding work ethic. We have a team GPA of 3.25 and recently had a player, Peyton Ritzert, make the All-State Good works team. We continue improving every day.
Central College football needs your help to advance our program. The areas of technology, equipment and team travel are categories that need support. Recently, the NCAA passed legislation allowing ‘coach to player’ in-game communication. This rule change has created a need for improved practice and game-day communication technology. To stay competitive with our opponents, we needed to purchase new headsets, belt packs, and helmet speakers. Our commitment to improving player skill and technique has created a need for additional blocking and tackling equipment along with leverage chutes. Our request for assistance with team travel expenses stems from Luther College's recent decision to leave the American Rivers Conference. This sudden departure resulted in our team adding an additional away game which increased this year’s travel costs.
We need your help. As we continue to develop our players and grow our program, we rely on the generous support of alumni, family and friends to provide our team with critical resources. We’re launching a new initiative to raise $50,000. Your gifts will significantly impact our ability to meet our needs.

The Central College men’s soccer tradition is defined by excellence, resilience and character. We measure our success not just by scores on the board, but by the growth of our players as leaders and teammates. Through rigorous competition and transformative travel, from high-stakes national trips to eye-opening international tours, our players gain a global perspective and form bonds that last a lifetime. These experiences prepare our young men to lead both on the field and in their future careers.
Our program is built on a foundation of strong academics, dedicated mentorship and a family atmosphere where every player is pushed to reach their full potential. With outstanding facilities and a staff focused on total athlete development, we work tirelessly to offer a first-class experience. However, staying competitive and continuing to offer these game-changing opportunities requires dedicated support from our alumni, families and fans.

Women's Triathlon 2026

The Central College women’s triathlon team is excited for another season of racing, training and making memories together! While triathlon may look like an individual sport, our team is built around supporting and encouraging one another every step of the way.
Last fall, our team had a great season, finishing 3rd overall among Division III teams at the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships. That accomplishment came from countless early mornings, tough workouts, long race days and, most importantly, teammates who were always there to push each other forward.
As we head into another season, we are excited to keep growing as athletes and as a team. We will be traveling to races, taking on new challenges and making plenty of memories along the way. Your support helps make these experiences possible!
This year, our program is fundraising for things like gear and equipment upgrades, travel, team-bonding activities and all the extras that help our team explore new opportunities that enrich our student athletes.

Women's Wrestling 2026

Hello,
I’m Jaime Miranda, and I’m entering my second season as the Head Women’s Wrestling Coach at Central College.
Our program is young, but it’s growing quickly, and I couldn’t be more proud of the energy, toughness and commitment our student-athletes bring every day. In just two years, we have grown from a roster of six wrestlers to more than 20, with a goal of reaching 35 athletes next season.
<strong>We are building something special, and this is only the beginning. </strong>
My mission is to provide our student-athletes with the same support, mentorship, and opportunities that transformed my life so they leave Central prepared to lead long after their wrestling careers have ended.

Central Men's Golf The Central College men’s golf program is rooted in tradition and success. Following a resilient season highlighted by sophomore Carter Yurgae’s NCAA All-Region selection, we are highly energized for the future. With five of our top six players returning for the 2026-27 season, our pursuit of an American Rivers Conference Championship remains our driving focus.
As the landscape of collegiate athletics evolves and our program adapts to recent budget cuts, securing a stable foundation for Dutch Golf is more critical than ever.
