Central College ignite is a crowdfunding platform to help members of the Central community raise money that will ignite their ideas and passions. Projects on the ignite platform advance innovation, teaching and learning at the college – including those focused on student groups, student experiences, athletics, or faculty-specific initiatives. Donors are connected directly with student and faculty projects that will ignite the Central community's spirit of creativity and innvoation.
What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is the practice of soliciting financial contributions from a large number of people especially from the online community and through social media channels. Crowdfunding connects donors to specific projects they have an interest in funding.
How do I make a contribution to an ignite project?
Go to: ignite.central.edu. The home page lists all of Central's active crowdfunding campaigns. Select the project you want to support and click the Give Now! button in the upper right corner to make a secure online donation with a credit card.

Is my gift tax deductible? Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes! 100% of your gift is considered a gift to Central College, which is a 501 (c) (3). A tax receipt will be sent to you by mail after you have made your donation.
How are these projects chosen? Can I trust that my donation will be used appropriately?
The Central College development staff will review ignite project applications and approve them based on project essentials: team commitment, project appeal and goal achievement potential. Central College's advancement team provides training and assistance to ensure faculty and students use funds according to donor intent.
100% of your donation will go directly to the project you selected. There are no processing or other fees deducted.
Yes! Central College is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and charitable donations to the college are tax-deductible as permitted by law.
Your credit card is charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the site.
Your gift will only go to the Journey Scholarship Fund if that is the goal of the project. To give directly to a specific fund visit central.edu/give.

If a campaign exceed their funding goal, the surplus funds will be used to expand or enhance the current project or reserved for use by similar projects in the future.
