It is a tradition at Central College for the senior class choose a gift to improve an area of the campus and raise the funds to do so. The Class of 2019 has decided on an exciting new solar array in the college garden, near the Garden Cottage kitchen classroom. The pergola-style canopy will create a large shaded space with potential for picnic tables and a grassy gathering space. This solar array will be far more visible than Central’s existing rooftop panels, creating new opportunities for sustainability education. With access to the solar array and the new battery technology and conduit, students will be able to explore new areas of research on campus, helping test the feasibility of a much larger array.
The members of the 2019 Senior Class Gift Committee are:
Annika Anderson, Lauren Bagby, Max Barkalow, Katie Berkley, Tyler Bryant, Daniel Coovert, K.E. Daft, Thomas Fox, Mackenzie Fuller, Andrew Gorman, Marie Hakeman, Hannah Hirl, Natalie Huisman, Jen Kern, Michalea Lillie, Kylie Olson, Rachel Peter, Katie Phillips, Hannah Reussner, Hannah Scotton, Nicole Williams and Eleanor Witt.
Each gift toward this project gets the Class of 2019 one step closer to their $10,000 goal. Thank you!
